Mobile app development with React Native

Eight of my own apps published on the App Store and Google Play. I know what it takes to reach the store.

Most people offering mobile development have delivered apps for clients. I have also shipped my own: TinniCare, IPCHECK, mihipoteca, EditPDF, MiFiniquito, SanShift, Caredose and HomeChores are in the stores right now, and I maintain them.

That changes the conversation. I know how long an Apple review takes, what gets rejected and why, how subscriptions are handled and what you need to prepare for privacy labels. The hard part of an app is rarely the code: it is everything that comes after.

What's included

One app for iOS and Android

A single codebase with React Native and Expo for both platforms, with the native behaviour each one expects.

From concept to design

If you have no design, we define it together: flows, screens and interaction. I have done that work on every one of my apps.

Tested business logic

When the app calculates something that matters — severance pay, a mortgage, a legal index — the calculation engine ships with tests. That is what I did in MiFiniquito and mihipoteca.

On-device data or a backend

Local storage when privacy comes first, or a proper backend when you need to sync. I can build both halves.

Store publishing

Developer accounts, certificates, listings, screenshots, privacy policies and the back-and-forth with Apple review. Until it is live.

Updates and maintenance

The stores change their requirements every year. I can keep the app compliant.

How we work

  1. 01

    Product definition

What the app does, who for, and what is essential in version one. This is where the most money is saved.

  2. 02

    Fixed proposal

Scope, timeline and price for a publishable MVP. With what is in and what waits, in writing.

  3. 03

    Development in versions

Installable builds from the first week so you try the app on your phone, not in a prototype.

  4. 04

    Publishing

I handle submission to the App Store and Google Play and resolve whatever review asks for.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to build a mobile app?

Almost entirely down to the scope of version one. An MVP focused on doing one thing well is weeks of work; an app with user accounts, payments, sync and an admin panel is months. On the first call we usually cut the feature list in half, and that is a good thing.

React Native or native?

React Native for the large majority of apps: one codebase, half the cost and performance the user cannot tell apart. Native if you depend on heavy graphics, real-time processing or very specific platform APIs. I will tell you on the first call.

Do you handle publishing to the stores?

Yes, including all the administrative work. I have been through that process eight times with my own apps, so I know what Apple rejects and how to avoid it before the first submission.

Can you build the backend too?

Yes, and it is my main ground. I come from more than eight years of backend work with Java and Spring Boot, so the app and its server can be handled by the same person.

Got an app idea?

Tell me about it and I will tell you what it would take to get it published. First call is free.
