Website and web app development
A site that loads fast and that Google understands. Both are designed in, not bolted on.
Most slow websites are not slow because of the design: they are slow because a heavy tool was picked for a problem that did not need it. A content site does not need to hydrate half a megabyte of JavaScript to paint text.
I use Astro when the site is mostly content and React when there is real state and interaction. This very site is Astro: served statically, no framework JavaScript in the browser, self-hosted fonts and a time to first byte under 100 ms.
What's included
Content sites and landing pages
Corporate sites, portfolios and product pages, statically generated. Fast by construction, not by later optimisation.
Web applications
Dashboards, calculators and internal tools with React and TypeScript, when there is real state to manage.
Technical SEO from day one
Canonical, Open Graph, hreflang for multilingual sites, sitemap and structured data. Far cheaper now than auditing it later.
Measured performance
Core Web Vitals, modern image formats, self-hosted fonts and no third-party dependencies blocking the render.
Multilingual done properly
Per-language routes, reciprocal hreflang and content in a single source. Getting this wrong keeps entire languages out of the index.
Deployment and domain
Vercel or similar, your own domain, HTTPS, automatic deploys from your repository and a preview on every change.
How we work
- 01
What the site must achieve
Sell, capture leads, inform. The structure follows from that, not from a catalogue of sections.
- 02
Fixed proposal
Scope, timeline and price in writing, with what is in and what waits for a second phase.
- 03
Build with previews
Every step lands on a URL you can open and comment on. No waiting until the end to see something.
- 04
Go live
Domain, deployment, Search Console and the site handed over with its documentation.

Frequently asked questions
Astro or React?
Astro if the site is mostly content: it is generated statically and the visitor downloads no framework JavaScript. React if there is genuine interaction and state. They combine well: Astro for the pages, React only in the islands that need it.
What about WordPress?
Reasonable if several non-technical people need to publish daily. If the content changes rarely, a static site is faster, safer and cheaper to maintain, with no plugins to update and far less attack surface.
Can I edit the content myself?
Yes. I can keep the content in files you edit from GitHub, or wire up a headless CMS if you prefer a dashboard. We decide based on who will actually be writing.
Is design included?
I can work from your design or define it with you. I have designed and shipped all of my own products, so I do not need someone to hand me the screens.
Need a website that performs?
Tell me what it has to achieve and I will reply within 24 hours with a clear proposal.
